Medway 2000 FC
As has been mentioned somewhere here, I enjoy a bit of football. A supporter of West Ham for as long as I can remember, I have also played the game for a couple of years. OK, for about 27 years!
Having played Sunday football all through my youth from Under 8s up to Under 18s, and then at University, I now manage a senior Sunday league team called Medway 2000. I joined this team as a player in 2004 and was then asked to take over as manager for the 2006-07 season when the then manager stepped down.
Playing in the Medway Messenger Sunday Football League (MMSFL) we are currently sitting mid-table in Division 3, having had a bit of a weird season. This includes beating teams in the top 3 but also getting beaten 9-0 and 13-0 on consecutive weekends.
We can be a team of two halves, as there have been numerous occassions this season when we have been trailing by two or three goals at half time after a poor performance in the first 45 minutes, but then come away with either all three points or a draw. This happened last weekend when, after trailing 3-0 at half time to Stockbury Athletic, we came within 2 minutes of getting a 4-3 victory before a penalty was awarded to them and they just scraped a draw.
You can follow the exploits of Medway 2000 on their very own website.
