Nothing’s Ever Easy

Having eventually booked our honeymoon a spanner was thrown into the works when we received a call from the travel agents telling us that the tour we were planning to do wasn’t available on the date we wanted. There was only one date on which we could actually do it.

We had two options, push the whole trip back by five days, keeping the itinerary the same or re-work the trip so that we did the tour in the middle of the honeymoon instead of at the beginning. The latter option meant that if we decided to go out on a day trip while in the first hotel, the Shangri-La Rasa Ria, we could run the risk of seeing something that we would see on the 3-day tour.

One reason for choosing to go when we did was that it coincided with the date we got engaged and so it would have been nice to spend this anniversary somewhere exotic. Moving the trip back by five days meant that we would still be at home on that day. Not quite as special!

After much deliberation and a couple of phone calls to the travel agents, we decided that doing the 3-day tour first was the better option than doing it in the middle of the trip, even if it meant not being away for engagement day. So we called the travel agents back to confirm that we would move the holiday back by 5 days so that we could get on the tour.

All we have to do now is wait for them to confirm…
