What An Absolute Shitter!

This last weekend had to be the worst weekend I’ve had for absolutely ages, and not exactly a great start to the new year. Admittedly, these aren’t huge life-changing things but they sure were enough to ruin the weekend!

Firstly, on the way home from work on Friday night, my headphones stopped working. Listening to music and podcasts makes walking to and from the train stations that little bit more enjoyable and so when the sound appeared to only come from the right hand speaker I thought the cable for the left one had broken. But if you took just the right one out, the left one was working but the sound was incredibly quiet! Surely the sound should be there or not, there shouldn’t be degradations of loudness. If the wire was broken sound would cease entirely wouldn’t it?

No amount of playing about with them as I walked to the station appeared to cure the problem and so it looked as though I’d be buying a new pair over the weekend.

The next morning we had to go to my local Fiat dealers to spend £140 to get a new glove box fitted in my car as my old one had broken about 7 months ago and we’d never got round to fixing it. £140 for a bit of moulded plastic. Crazy! We then headed back home to find a letter from the Police on the doormat…I’d been caught speeding on New Years Day heading down to Brighton!

What annoyed me about the speeding notification was that I’d been caught about 50 yards from where the speed limit changes from 70mph to 50mph and I was in the process of slowing down to fifty at the time. It’s nice of the Kent police to give you some braking time. Imagine if everyone suddenly braked and went from 70mph to 50mph within a few feet, there’d be loads of accidents!

This put me in a Bad Mood for pretty much the rest of the day and so I decided to turn on the PS3 and play a bit of Gran Turismo 5 in a bid to cheer myself up. Probably not the best game to play after receiving a speeding notification, but hammering some cars around race tracks sure is fun!

And I was having fun. Until my steering wheel broke!

After playing for an hour or so I paused for a while to engage in some conversation with the wife instead of ignoring her but when I went back to the game I had no controls! No amount of turning it off and on again seemed to work and I couldn’t find a solution on the interweb and so Bad Mood returned once again!

Sunday was football day and I was fully prepared not to get a win against the team second in the league (we’re third from bottom!) but what I wasn’t counting on was having my ankle deliberately stomped on by some oaf, causing me to come off injured after only 20 minutes. The prick had managed to leave two whacking great big stud marks on my ankle bruising the whole area. And I’d actually had ankle guards on so imagine how bad it could have been if I wasn’t wearing them!

The injury meant that I had to hobble around for the rest of the day and it hurt like fuck! The pain kept me awake most of the night as I couldn’t get comfortable and so I got up this morning for work feeling extremely tired and still in pain!

Oh, and I forgot to buy those new headphones as well!
