Farewell to 2013. A Review

As years go, this one turned out to be a bit of a mixture of the crap and the good. Although looking back on it, there wasn’t that much that was achieved.

It started off quite badly when we moved into our new house in January. There have been ongoing problems with the house since that day and many of these issues are yet to be fixed. Where things were fixed they tended to go wrong again shortly after. The company who built the house have been the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life! I could write something about the house for each month this year but I’ll just leave it at that!

February turned out to be a comedic month as I managed to go to a few comedy gigs including Mickey Flanagan and the Stand Up For Shelter, the tickets for which I won on the radio!

March was a quiet month, but in April we joined the National Trust and so ended up going on a few days out over the next couple of months to enjoy our English heritage at places such as Sissinghurst and Bodiam castles. I think this is a sign that we are getting older. We also have a couple of nights out at the theatre

In June I treated the wife to a day out to Paradise Wildlife Park and in July celebrated graduating the IPA Marketing Foundation course with a party in Camden. In July I have a change in my job as I take on a new role as Technology Evaluation Manager. Definitely a step up.

In August we managed to get a few days out of the country as we visited my Mum and her partner in France. While we were there, there was an international dance festival so got to enjoy that. It was our first ‘holiday’in 16 months so was a welcome break.

September was probably the busier month as we not only celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary with dinner at the OXO Tower, but also go to a few BBC radio recordings and I have a visit to the Eurogamer Expo with a few friends. It’s not all fun though as I start physio to help heal my plantar fasciitis, which is a result of playing football and also getting old!

It’s mainly about gaming in October and November as first GTA V is released and consumes many an hour of my life and then the PS4 launch at the end of November consumes even more of it as I take 4 days off work to play with it!

And then we were into December where everything centers around getting ready to host Christmas for the first time as we now have a bigger house into which people can actually fit and preparing for our holiday on the 28th as The Wife and I will be heading to Mauritius to celebrate being together for 20 years.

So that was it.
