World Cup Football Party Time

After the success(?) of last year’s Champions League gathering, the Superbowl party back in February, the Champions League final last month we only went and did it again for the World Cup Final yesterday.

With the game kicking off at 4pm we decided to have a barbecue in the afternoon but had to bring it indoors because of the crappy weather! So cue lots of running around attempting to cook everything in one oven!

As is becoming customary, the alcohol had to relate to the game somehow and so we had some Becks and Quilmes for Germany and Argentina and also knocked up some caparinhas to represent the Brazilian location of the match.

The game itself was a little dull, and was goalless after 90 minutes and so it went into extra time. And it looked like it would go to penalties until Mario Götze scored with seven minutes left to go giving Germany the win that on performance throughout the tournament, they probably deserved.
