Diving In Bali

An early 7am start this morning as we were picked up by the local dive club for a mornings diving.

After getting all kitted up, we had a fifty minute boat ride to the first site, Manta Point where we were hoping to see some manta rays. Apart from a reef shark and the various large shoals of fish which you get in most places there wasn’t much different to previous dives until just before my air ran out when we had a large manta ray swim around us. Truly awesome!

The second site, Crystal Bay, had an exceptionally large amount of fish in it, probably the most we have ever seen in one dive before. After the dive we had a chance to rest on the beach at Crystal Bay for a bit before getting back on the boat to head back.

After being dropped off at the hotel we decided to walk the 4km beachfront walk, as if the exercise we’d gotten from diving hadn’t been enough! It was a lovely stroll and we stopped off for a drink along the way at one of the many local cafe’s that line the walkway. We carried on a little bit further and then headed up to the main road for the walk back. With very tired feet, we found a place for a spot of dinner (nasi goreng) and afterwards treated ourselves to an ice cream before heading back to the hotel.
