Day Trip To Brighton
To make a change from our regular-ish gatherings in London for dinner, me and some friends headed down to Brighton for the day for a spot of lunch and to enjoy the seaside air. One of our group has a brother who recently opened up a restaurant down there and so this was where we decided to meet up.
We drove down as it is the easiest way to get there and on the way down stopped to pick up two others so we could arrive together. This also meant that I’d be on my good behaviour as I wouldn’t be able to drink as I’d be driving home.
We parked up and headed to the Lanes which is where the Olive Grove is situated. The rest of the group were already there so we sat in the courtyard dining area in the sunshine and enjoyed a drink before looking at the menu and ordering food.
The Olive Grove, as the name suggests is a Mediterranean restuarant and we opted for the tapas menu, each choosing a couple of plates that we’d share around, although The Wife wasn’t letting anyone near the lasagne she wanted! When the food arrived it was delicious. Lots of fresh flavours and cooked to perfection. It was so good The Wife ordered a second lasagne!
After dinner we headed down to the front to walk off the food we’d just eaten although it didn’t stop us buying some fresh donuts and grabbing another drink on the pier!
It was a good day out and made a change for us to get out of London and to experience a new restaurant.
