It’s World Cup Time
In a couple of days the FIFA World Cup gets underway and stupidly I’ve booked for us to get away as a family for a few days so will miss the first couple of games!
This year, for a change, there isn’t much hype around the England team. It’s a relatively young and inexperienced squad that Gareth Southgate has put together with very much an eye on the future. It’s good that there’s no “we’re going to win it” pressure on them so they can go out and just play football.
Going into the tournament Brazil and Germany are the leading favourites to win it so expect them to be in the latter stages of the tournament. England were 16/1 at the start, I reckon quarter finals is a good bet for them given previous years performances!
So we’re going to be heading off to Center Parcs tomorrow for the week and so by the time we get back there will have been three games played and I doubt I will be able to watch them as we’ll be out doing things as a family, trying to get Little E to enjoy herself. But after that, I will be trying to watch as many of the sixty four games as possible.
