Meat Loaf Gone Like A Bat Out Of Hell
Musically speaking, Meat Loaf has been a massive part of my life for as long as I can remember.
When I was about seven years old I would listen to my dad’s cassette album of Bat Out Of Hell at the weekends. I’d wake up early and head downstiars and put it on his stereo. My favourite track back then was “All Revved Up with No Place to Go” and I would play it over and over and over, having to rewind the tape back after each listen.
From finding his first album Stoney & Meat Loaf on vinyl, to watching the BOOH musical a few years ago. I’ve got framed picture discs, rare releases and memorabilia, and I’ve seen him live numerous times. He became the soundtrack to my life. We played a piano instrumental version of Heaven Can Wait at my dad’s funeral. He was the one who introduced me to Meat Loaf all those years ago.
I guess heaven couldn’t wait any longer.
